Guidelines for Shop-owners

ShopSharing gives you the chance to offer unique and original products to your clientele, especially without any risk.  They don't necessarily have to be of the same category of those you already sell. The matches can be multiple, and they can make you get new clients. 

Keep in mind these 10 simple rules, and everything will be much easier:

 

  1. Create a dedicated space: if you have found the right product for your shop, try to dedicate to it a special space or make some room for it in the shop window.

 

  1. Where do I display? To sell your new products you can use both counters or shelves: in case you have only one free shelf to offer, simply calculate it as a 1mq.

 

  1. Don't exaggerate with the price for the commercialization of the product, especially if you don't have much room or you only have a shelf to offer. Don't overdo!

 

  1. Careful with the price: remember that the price for the customer is defined by the manufacturer, but you have the task to advice him based on your experience and sell it to the final client at the set price.

 

  1. Reselling is a must: remember that your final aim is not to commercialize someone else's products, but to resell them; with ShopSharing you can finally test the products you want, buying directly from the manufacturer those that your clients will like.

 

  1. Think creatively:
  • match goods which are totally different from one an other to distinguish yourself from your competitors.
  • If you have enough free space, you can test different products from different manufacturers at the same time.

 

  1. Be open to changes: give an opportunity to all the products that are offered to you, the more unusual they are, the higher is the chance that your clients will notice them.

 

  1. Ask for clarifications:
  • If the pictures of the product that you have decided to try are not too clear, don't hesitate to contact the manufacturer and ask for better ones.
  • If the product is not too big or expensive to ship, ask for a sample so you can see it first hand.

 

  1. Explore and interact:
  • talk, exchange ideas, browse and meet as many manufacturers as possible through ShopSharing: anyone could be the right manufacturer for you, even the ones located in your same Country.
  • If you have some ideas on how to enhance a product so that it could sell more, tell the manufacturer, it might mean success for both of you!

 

  1. Know “your” manufacturers: if you are in touch with a manufacturer based in a Country near yours, invest some time and go meet him personally, taking advantage of low cost flights. Don't underestimate the human factor and the empathy that can arise between yourselves, a new and successful synergy might come from it!
